Finally! Moondance is being remastered!

I love Van Morrison's Moondance album. It has so many great songs! It's definitely an album that can be played all the way through without a clunker to be heard.

When I upgraded my vinyl copy and bought the CD, more than 20 years ago, I was super bummed. The CD sounded muddy and horrible.  Such a poor mastering job!  What a disappointment.

Then around ten years ago, Van Morrison started releasing remasters of some of his most popular releases. But until now, Moondance was not among them.

I was thrilled when Triple M Music Director Gabby Parsons told me that the remastered version of this classic album is finally being released October 22nd.  She already received a sampler from the Deluxe Edition, and I'm happy to report, it sounds GREAT!! Even over the crappy speakers on my computer!

It's coming out in three different versions. The Deluxe edition will include the completely remastered album, plus four additional CD's with previously unreleased music from the Moondance sessions, and a Blu-ray audio disc of the album in 5.1 surround. You better be a big fan to grab this one. The retail price is $69.98.

The Expanded edition will include the remastered album plus 11 bonus tracks. You can also buy the standard edition which will be the original album, remastered.

You can find out more here.

Van
I saw Van Morrison twice as a teen in Milwaukee, I always fell in love with him after every concert.

World's Worst iPod:Escape Club "Wild Wild West"
Remember when we were headed for the 90s..and grooving to the Escape Club? This band from London scored a number 1 hit in 1988 with the song "Wild Wild West." It's probably the only song you remember from that band--but they weren't a...

With Father's Day coming up, we thought we'd choose one of the greatest dad songs of all time.  But since that song wasn't on the iPod, we decided to go with "Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast" by Wayne Newton. This song made...

Day 4: The Final Day of Bonnaroo
Today was another busy day at Bonnaroo. We started the day off by seeing Shakey Graves. I missed his show in Madison earlier this year so he was a must see on my list. Loved him! Right as he ended, a press conference with Ed Helms, Abigail...

Day 3: Saturday
Saturday was a very busy day! So many Triple M bands to see! So many concerts were back to back, so we did a lot of walking back and forth from the stages to the media compound. If you're ever in need of getting more steps in during the day,...

Day 2: Friday - Variety, the Spice of Life
Day 2 is upon us! Despite being up fairly late and not sleeping super well (first time camping...I'll get used to it I'm sure), I was hoping to sleep in just a little bit, but my body had other plans. It woke me up at 5:45am for the hell of it. I...

World's Worst iPod: Engelbert Humperdinck "After the Lovin'"
One of the great things about radio in the 60s and 70s is the variety of music that made it onto the radio.  A rock song by Led Zeppelin could be followed up by Paul Anka or Andy Williams. A polka could make it to top 40 right alongside a disco song...
