Fair & Balanced Farmers Market?

Here's the text of the news release we received regarding proposed changes at the Farmer's Market.
For immediate release
April 1, 2011 The Dane County Farmers Market opens its outdoor season April 16th, and a local group is announcing an effort to make sure it's as peaceful as it has been for the past three decades. Concerned about possible conflicts due to the ongoing budget crisis, The Coalition for a Fair and Balanced Market is proposing dividing the Capitol Square, with half the market designated for supporters of the Governor's proposal, the other half for opponents. According to coalition president Greta Johnson, "this will assure that citizens of this state can buy locally made goods and produce without having to be concerned about getting into any heated conflict." To make it easy for everyone, Johnson is proposing that as you approach the capitol from State Street, the left hand side will be for liberals, and the right hand side will be where the conservatives will do their shopping. ....................................The New South Wales Greens and trade unions are already putting pressure on the Coalition 11 days out from the state election. The Greens have released a six-point plan for open and accountable government. The plan includes extra sitting days for the states Legislative Council and a 12-month cooling off period before retiring ministers and senior public servants can take up related jobs in the private sector.Greens MP David Shoebridge wants the Coalition to sign up. They talk the talk but theyre not willing to commit Mr Shoebridge said.Trade unions have their own five-point plan they want the Coalition to sign up to.Unions NSW secretary Mark Lennon says only one Coalition candidate has signed up. Alison Davey in Cessnock the National Party candidate in Cessnock has signed Mr Lennon said. We thank her and Clayton Barr the Labor candidate in Cessnock for supporting the campaign and we hope that other candidates on the Coalition side will show the same sort of commitment. Simply if they dont have any answers then they dont have any mandate to make any cuts. A spokesman for Opposition Leader Barry OFarrell said he would not be responding to the challenges. While Mr OFarrell faces pressure on two fronts Premier Kristina Keneallys actions show how tenuous Labor feels its grasp is on key Hunter Valley seats.Ms Keneally will join a bus-load of media for her second visit to the Hunter in just over a week. She will first make an announcement at Cessnock a seat Labor holds by what would normally be a safe margin of 12.4 per cent. The Premier will then travel to Newcastle which is held by the ALP by a far slimmer margin of 1.2 per cent.Labors chances in Newcastle were dealt a further blow yesterday with the Liberal Party announcing it will direct preferences to independent candidate John Tate rather than the ALPs Jodi McKay.........

...There is only one way to stall Global Warming during the 20 years it will take to shift to renewable energy use the plants grasses and trees growing in the 5 billion hectares of farmland soil to extract CO2 from the air by photosynthesis. Its not used- carbon soil ...GREG HUNT No youre completely false because as of 2012 one of two things will occur in the world. Either a new international agreement will be struck which will include soil carbon.

U2 Unplugged
Rolling Stone Magazine got U2 to perform their new song "The Miracle (of Joey Ramone)" acoustically--and it's pretty great! Maybe we should invite them to come in and play for us in Studio M!
World's Worst iPod: LeBlanc & Carr "Falling"
LeBlanc and Carr were Lenny LeBlanc and Pete Carr, two Muscle Shoals studio musicians who hit the top 40 in 1978 with their hit "Falling." It made it up to #13 on the charts and was perfect for clumsy teenage slow dancing! Musically, these guys were...

Kitty's night in a haunted house
Before Friday, my only experience with a haunted house, commercial or otherwise, was at the Recreation Department in Stevens Point when I was a teenager, and as I remember I was FREAKED out. So I was a little nervous when Jonathan and I were asked to...

World's Worst iPod: El DeBarge "Who's Johnny"
A lot of people seemed to have fond memories of this questionable song from 1986. "Who's Johnny" was the first solo hit for the guy named El DeBarge, and it went to number 3 on the charts. Some of you might remember it from the movie "Short...

Finally, recognition of Stevie Ray Vaughan by the Rock Hall
The new list of nomines for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is out, and finally they give a nod to Stevie Ray Vaughan. The Rock Hall has passed Stevie by for the more than ten years that he's been eligible, causing me and other blues fans much...

You might want to see "Once" twice
I had the opportunity to go see "Once" at Overture Hall last night, and I guess the two word summary of my review could be "weirdly awesome." The story isn't too complicated, which is good because I sometimes had a hard time understanding the...

World's Worst iPod: Stonebolt "I Will Still Love You"
It seems Kitty was all alone in the Canadian wilderness with her love for the 1978 hit "I Will Still Love You" by Stonebolt. It only made it up to #29, so it seems a lot of folks didn't have the fond memories of the song that she did. With amazing...

World's Worst iPod: Neil Diamond "Yesterday's Songs"
Even Neil Diamond fans didn't seem to want to throw their support behind this one. "Yesterday's Songs" with its cheesy backup singers may be the most cliche song the guy does! It made it up to #11 on the charts in 1981/82 and was #1 on the...
