FREE MP3: Poor Moon - People In Her Mind

Poor Moon
Eager to hear new music from Fleet Foxes? This might tide you over. Poor Moon is composed of four longtime friends, two of which (Christian Wargo & Casey Wescott) are also in Fleet Foxes. The foxes are joined by brothers Ian and Peter Murray of the band The Christmas Cards. After playing some house parties under a slew of different names, the four friends finally started recording their tunes under the name Poor Moon (after Wargo’s favorite Canned Heat song). Their debut release, an EP titled Illusion, is out now on Sub Pop.

You can download Poor Moon's first single “People In Her Mind” for free below. Poor Moon is currently on tour, but the closest they’ll get to us is Cleveland.  Hmm. You might want to hold out for a (probable) tour in support of their upcoming debut full-length album, which is set to be released this fall.

You might want to see "Once" twice
I had the opportunity to go see "Once" at Overture Hall last night, and I guess the two word summary of my review could be "weirdly awesome." The story isn't too complicated, which is good because I sometimes had a hard time understanding the...

World's Worst iPod: Stonebolt "I Will Still Love You"
It seems Kitty was all alone in the Canadian wilderness with her love for the 1978 hit "I Will Still Love You" by Stonebolt. It only made it up to #29, so it seems a lot of folks didn't have the fond memories of the song that she did. With amazing...

World's Worst iPod: Neil Diamond "Yesterday's Songs"
Even Neil Diamond fans didn't seem to want to throw their support behind this one. "Yesterday's Songs" with its cheesy backup singers may be the most cliche song the guy does! It made it up to #11 on the charts in 1981/82 and was #1 on the...

In honor of National Punctuation Day
Today is National Punctuation Day! It's a day to geek out about exclamation points, semi-colons, ampersands and commas. It's also a day to go back into the Radio Way-Back Machine, and listen to this song by Dan Baird. It was a minor hit in...

World's Worst iPod: OMC "How Bizarre"
One of the more recent songs on the iPod, "How Bizarre" from OMC seemed to conjure up some positive memories from our younger listeners. That includes the woman who sang a different version with her friends...instead of singing "How...
