The 8 at 8

Each weekday at 8am, Jonathan & Kitty present the 8 at 8. The 8 at 8 is a collection of eight songs, with a combined theme, meaning or unifying idea.

With two minds like Jonathan & Kitty, the song combinations are infinite.  They might be ridiculous too, but it's a infinite ridiculousness, just like Jonathan & Kitty.

Eight at Eight for October 15, 2013: Songs Involved in Lawsuits

Today we're going to court as we feature eight grade songs involved in lawsuits.

Hello, I Love You by The Doors faced a lawsuit by Ray Davies of  The Kinks.  Davies said the song had the same riff as All Day and All of the Night.

Down Under by Men at Work was sued because it borrowed from the kids song Kookabura.

My Sweet Lord by George Harrison was sued by The Chiffons because it sounded like the song He's So Fine.

Gold on the Ceiling by The Black Keyes.  The Black Keyes actually sued Pizza Hut for stealing the song.

Another Brick in the Wall by Pink Floyd.  The children who sang on this song sued for cash.

Old Man Down the Road by John Fogerty.  This one is strange as a record company sued Fogerty for sounded too much like his old band CCR and the song Run Through the Jungle.

Viva La Vida by Coldplay was sued by Joe Satriani for sounding like If I Could Fly.

Anybody Seen My Baby by The Rolling Stones could have been sued by kd Lang because it sounds like her song Constant Craving, but The Stones gave kd a write credit on the song.

Blood Moon: reason to stay up late, or end of the world?
There's a preacher in Texas who's a little freaked out about tonight's lunar eclipse, and the three that follow every six months over the next two years. He thinks it's a signal of the end of the world!, and has even written a book...

Bully gets taste of his own medicine. ~Stevi
This. Is. Amazing: After terrorzing a family with disabled children, a judge sentences a man to hold a sign which read "I am a bully I pick on children..." The man says the sentence "ruined my life". I say, lesson learned. Hopefully, the justice...
