A funeral home in South Carolina is opening up a Starbucks. Yes, a Starbucks. I understand people are addicted to coffee, but do we really need to get some coffee when we’re saying goodbye to someone forever?
Apparently the answer is yes.
Robinson Funeral Home in Easley South Carolina has hired a full-staff of baristas to serve the grieving. Nothing like a Skinny Caramel Macchiato as you send grandma or grandpa to their eternal resting place.
Easley does not have a Starbucks in town so this will be an opportunity for non-grieving to get their caffeine fix too. I just hope the lines aren’t too long.
Could you imagine someone who’s late for work getting grumpy because they can’t get their White Chocolate Mocha immediately?
The conversation would probably go something like this:
Customer 1 (who is also a mourner): “I’d like a Cinnamon Dolce Latte please.”
Customer 2 (person late for work): “Man! Can’t this line move any faster!? I’m dying back here!”
Maybe we should have more things in funeral homes. It might help us put things in perspective. The next time you’re in line at the DMV or the grocery store, you might not get as angry if you happen to see a funeral going on out of the corner of your eye.
