What does Kitty have to say?

Do I Buy the Beatles albums again?

I didn't start buying Beatles albums until the 1970's, my age my excuse for being late to the party.

I bought the CD's in the 80's and 90's and forked out dough for remastered versions of the CD's a couple years ago.

Now I've got the opportunity to start the process all over again..as the Beatles record company, EMI, has announced that they're releasing remastered versions of the Beatle albums on 180 gram vinyl. That's great news for vinyl junkies who love the warmer sound of the old LP records, and those who think listening to a band from the 1960's on vinyl is more authentic.

The records will be the United Kingdom versions, and will feature goodies like the cutouts that came with Sgt Pepper and the poster and photos that came with The White Album.

For those of you who have a lot of money to spend, a box set of the all the records with a big heavily illustratrated book that will be available as well. Only 50,000 sets will be produced and I can imagine they'll go for a pretty penny and will be snapped up quickly.

Prefer the mono versions of the Beatle albums? EMI says it's coming out with those on vinyl next year.
As for me,  I think I'll save my money. I'm waiting for them to come out with the 180 gram vinyl of Beatles Yesterday and Today, complete with the dead baby butcher cover, image enhanced for my viewing pleasure.

Hey everybody, we were thrown for a loop by the twist this week, but were able to make one of our "oldie but a goldie" songs fit the mold. We have a few songs that we have played consistently over the years, and we are very happy that we will be...

Twist and Turn
We just received word of what this weeks twist is, and...oh boy. We need to take our "signature song" and cut it to only 2:30 without going over. Amberstein does not simply play 2:30 versions of our songs...so this could be interesting. Last...

World's Worst iPod: Somebody's Watching Me by Rockwell
In 1984, Rockwell rose to number 2 for 3 weeks in 1984 with "Somebody's Watching Me." The backup singer for the song was Michael Jackson. How did Rockwell get Jackson to help him? Well, Rockwell's real name is Kennedy William Gordy and he...

Free download: Jamie N. Commons
Have you heard the song "Rumble and Sway" yet on Triple M? The singer sounds like a raspy blues dude who's definitely been around the block a few times....but surprisingly, Jamie N. Commons is only 23 years old! He was born in England, but...

New food of the week: Kale
Last week, I decided I would try one new, healthy food a week, and asked my facebook friends to make some suggestions. The first thing I tried was mango. I'm sure I've had other mango flavored things, and mango as part of something else, but...

World's Worst iPod: You Don't Bring Me Flowers
There's only one thing that might be worse than the Neil Diamond/Barbra Streisand duet "You Don't Bring Me Flowers." And that's Jonathan Suttin doing his best crooning...doing both parts. Most unpleasant. A lot of people liked this song...
