What does Kitty have to say?

Digital, schmigital

tvset2Holy  Hi-Tech Improvements, Batman!  Is it time for the digital transition already?  I'm not sure I can handle this major shift to society! So today's the day all the TV stations turn off their analog signals, and broadcast only digitally.  The deadline was originally back in February, but President Obama and others wanted to ease us into it a bit more slowly. The only TV station in Madison that held on until today is Fox 47, and  it's flipping the switch today. But I know you all know that. Everybody knows that! For crying out loud, the message has been scrolling across my TV screen for months...even on my DIGITAL TV ON THE DIGITAL CHANNELS! So here's my question, or realistically speaking, my gripe. Why does the Federal Communications Commission have 4,000 operators standing by to answer questions from confused viewers? Don't you think the more "confused" among us would have trouble finding the FCC in the phone book? How many have even heard of the FCC?? How much goverment money are we wasting on all these operators? Or.. is this just part of the economic stimulus plan? Okay, I'm better now. I'm done venting. I think I'll go home and listen to some records on my old wind-up Victrola. Before they make me switch to the new Digital Victrola.
