What does Jonathan have to say?

Cell Phone Panic

As I pulled up to the station this morning,  panic ran through my body as I realized I FORGOT MY CELL PHONE AT HOME.  I seriously thought about going back home to get it, but I was running late so I had to soldier on without it.

How lame.  Do I really need my phone that much?  I can remember when I used to leave home and not have access to phone until I got to work.  What is so important that I must have my cell phone at all times?  These days my phone is more of a distraction then a communication device.  I use it to surf the web, look at my Twitter feed and get a few laughs from The Onion mobile site.  I do receive text messages and I guess that qualifies as communication, but most of the text messages are not that important.

Before we had cell phones I managed to keep up with friends and family and even meet people out.  Now I use my cell phone in the grocery store if Lindsay and I get split up.
I can't imagine what communication will be like 20 years from now.  Kids will probably wonder how we just got by with cell phones.

Agreed - Tammy A.
We don't have data on our plan and our daughter only has unlimited texting. She is pushing for a data plan for her line. We went to the provider to look at phones and they barely had any phone that did not require a data plan. My husband is horrified. He loves his Razor and doesn't want anything larger or more complicated.

World's Worst iPod: Harper Valley PTA
In 1968, Jeannie C. Riley topped both the pop and country charts with "Harper Valley PTA". She was the first female singer to accomplish that feat and it wasn't repeated until Dolly Parton did it in 1981 with the song "9 to 5". The song was...

Here To Help
One small detail I like about Bonnaroo ... the security people's shirts say "Safety" and "Here to help". They seem well-trained and they do the things security folk do ... but I like the emphasis on safety and that they're doing these things...
