What does Jonathan have to say?

By George, It's Your Birthday...I think?

georgeToday is the birth anniversary of George Harrison.  Apparently for most of his life he thought his birthday was on February 25th and not the 24th.   He found out in the early 90's that his birthday was really on the 24th.  The confusion may have come about because he was born close to midnight. I wonder if this change really ever bothered him.   After all, it was just one day off.  I think it would be a lot more traumatic if he thought his birthday was really in the summer and instead it was in the winter.  I think we all like to secretly claim that the time of year we were born is really the best.  I was born in July so as I kid I always thougth that was the best because the weather would always be nice.  I have friends who were born in the dead of winter and as kids they would all say winter was best because their birthday could be celebrated in school with close friends. I also hope it wasn't a big deal to George because there are a lot of other rock stars who have rather disturbing secrets come about years later.  For example, Eric Clapton thought his mother was really his sister for years and that his grandmother was really his mother.  Awkward!!!  Actress Liv Tyler thought her father was Todd Rundgren for years and years until it was finally revealed that Steven Tyler of Aerosmith is her papa.  I also think George probably liked the mix-up because he got to celebrate it over two days.  My friend Craig celebrates over two days.  He was born on Leap Year day which means most friends call him on February 28th and March 1st to wish him well.  Craig has told me he doesn't mind not having a birthday once every four years, but wishes he would only age once every four years as well.

I love to celebrate the birth of George, as his death is the same as my birthday.... that was a very sad birthday!

Blood Moon: reason to stay up late, or end of the world?
There's a preacher in Texas who's a little freaked out about tonight's lunar eclipse, and the three that follow every six months over the next two years. He thinks it's a signal of the end of the world!, and has even written a book...
