Today I'm headed to DeForest Middle School to talk with some 5th graders about radio. I'm not sure what I'm going to say. I remember loving radio as early as 2nd grade and wanting to be a morning deejay. However, things have changed a bit.
When I was a kid there were just a few choices when it came to entertainment. Now it seems like the options are endless. It DOESN'T mean people aren't listening to radio. We still have a big audience, but there are a lot more distractions.
The teacher who invited me said she was going to have a list of question from the students. I'm not sure what they're going to ask. It feels like our kids are becoming more and more advanced. Don't they all have laptops now? I'm not sure how savvy they are in 5th grade, but I do have one question for them:
Can any of them help me update my contacts in my cell phone?!
