What does Kitty have to say?

At my wit's end

bunny I'm just back from vacation, and I'm already pulling my hair out. And no, it's not even because of the endless Michael Jackson coverage. It's about something a little closer to home. It's the ongoing war with rabbits happening in my yard. Right before I left on vacation, rabbits chewed through the plastic fence surrounding my vegetable garden. This is the same fence that I had used in other years, and this never happened before. It appears the critters are getting more violent. So I redid the fence, patched the hole, and created what I thought was an impenetrable fortress. Not so much. Last night Mike and I went out to give the veggies some water, when I noticed that there were a bunch of rabbits surrounding the fence, holding what appeared to be some kind of vigil. (Maybe they thought that's where MJ's memorial was being held.) Then I looked closer and saw another bunny INSIDE THE FENCE! You got it, another hole had been gnawed through the fence, and he was happily munching on my snap pea plants. I scared the rabbit out..eventually..after it ran around for a while before it remembered where the escape hatch was. Then I pulled out the rest of the peas and said screw it. I don't know how well my pepper plants or tomatoes will fare. But I have a feeling that I'm going to be making quite a few trips to the farmers market later this summer.
