Kitty and I usually play an April Fool's Day prank each year during our show. One year told Madisonians the Beltline was going to have tolls. Another year we told everyone Karoake was going to be illegal in our fair city. Once Governor Walker took office we told everyone the farmer's market on the Captiol Square would be divided in half with Republicans going to the right and Democrats to the left.
This year April Fool's Day fell on a Sunday so we had no prank.
However, we did do a few pranks on Facebook including an annoucement about the Rolling Stones coming to perform in Studio M, Kitty and I were really brother and sister and Former Mayor Dave and I opening up a new food cart featuring fresh oysters and egg salad sandwiches.
The only thing that frustrated me about the prank was those who had to call it a prank in the comments section of Facebook.
Here's my rule for April Fool's Day jokes. If someone is pranking a group and you figure it out, go along with the prank. Calling out the prank is not clever, but adding to the prank is genius.
By the way, here's an amazing prank done by a Canadian airline:
