So by early next week we're going to be in another deep freeze..but hey, at least we're not in Alaska.

Overnight lows--60 below zero. Not including the windchill. Imagine what that would do to your nostril hairs! Daytime highs around ten below. It's so cold that planes can't fly!
I think we had some days last year when it didn't get above zero..so actually I don't know what they're whining about.
So..what's the coldest you've ever been? For me, I think it's a tie. Judging an ice sculpture contest last year at the Winter Flakeout Festival in Wisconsin Dells (and drinking beer in a tent--it was wicked cold when you stepped away from the heater). Or the time a boyfriend and I decided to hitchhike to Milwaukee and stood on an on-ramp to Highway 10 in Stevens Point for HOURS before giving up. We got on the other side of the highway and hitched back into town. All my skin had turned bright pink. (More on my hitchhiking adventures..and how risky and stupid they were another time.)
Meanwhile...I'm going to go have a cup of hot cocoa.
