Apparently Steven Tyler of Aerosmith is sick of the band and has decided to go in a new direction. I think that would have been more interesting about 25 years ago, but now I think the news gets a big yawn.
Sure, I like some of Aerosmith's stuff. "Dream On" is a great song. I also enjoy "Sweet Emotion" and I have to admit I even like some of their later stuff like "Ragdoll".
Joe Perry of Aerosmith says the band will stay together and audition new artists to fill Steven Tyler's shoes.
Meanwhile, Steven Tyler says he wants to concentrate on his own stuff. Come on guys! You're all over 60. I don't expect you to move to a retirement home in Florida, but can't you guys just tolerate each other and do some concerts and play the songs we want to hear?! At this point here is your job description: Show up and play "Walk This Way" and then go home.
Does Steven Tyler really have to start exploring new options? Do we really want to hear the Steven Tyler Project?
