I'm starting to think I might be psychic. The first time I went to a show at the Overture Center, I saw something that perhaps was a hint of future problems at the brand new cultural arts facility.
The show was former Beach Boy Brian Wilson, and he and a very large band performed the long awaited "Smile" album live. It was an extremely awesome performance (including one song that used vegetables as musical instruments.) And of course the acoustics were incredible.
I was concerned that it's a bit difficult to sneak out to use the bathroom at Overture Hall..because there are no aisles...just never ending rows that go on and on.
But that isn't what foreshadowed future economic problems.
It was a little problem outside the women's bathroom located on the main floor. Even though the facility was no more than a month old, one letter had already fallen off the sign outside the door. It was the W.
That's right: the sign said OMEN.
It's too bad I was unable to interpret that and warn the city and the cultural arts board. I promise to try to be more attuned to my psychic abilities.
