I know there's lots of people out there who have a hard time getting up in the morning. I knew one guy when I was in college who would set several alarm clocks in different parts of the room to help him wake up. This isn't the worst idea except for the fact he was my roommate and it was rather annoying when he had an early class and I was still trying to sleep.
I had another rooommate who used to hit the snooze bar over and over and over and over again which was as annoying (if not more) than the clock radios around the room guy.
However, there's a new invention in the works that may put a stop to those addicted to the snooze bar. It's a clock radio that actually gives you a little shock when you hit the snooze bar.
No joke.
A 19-year-old student named Sankalp Sinha at India's Sharda University thought of the idea in 2008 and now he's trying to make it a reality. But why stop there? I think some people will get used to the shock and put up with it just to get a few more minutes of sleep. I think Mr. Sinha needs to think of a few more "settings" for his clock radio.
Here's are some other ideas for what happens when someone hits the snooze bar:
A swarm of bees is released from the clock radio
The snooze bar calls your mother and she in turn calls you to tell you she's disappointed you didn't make your bed yet
A hologram of Boo Boo Honey appears and starts talking
The last play of this season's Packers/Seahawks game is replayed 10 times
Gotye's "Somebody I Used to Know" starts playing
And probably the scariest thing of all...You are instantly listening to Jonathan and Kitty in the morning!
OK...I know this is weird, but it's real life for me. I have my alarm clock set an hour and a half ahead. If it is 6:00am, my alarm clock says 7:30am. Now...doesn't that look much better than 6? Even though my mind knows it, i am still more at peace with 7:30am. My family is mildly amused by it, although they don't understand.
On another note, there is an alarm clock out now that goes off, then rolls off your nightstand while continuing to go off. You have to chase the darned thing down to shut it off. It really exists.
The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, it is another gorgeous Monday, fit for another great show at the Crystal Corner tonight.
Through locking ourselves in the barn on Irish Lane, tossing some ideas around, as well as a few choice beverages to...
Hey everybody, we were thrown for a loop by the twist this week, but were able to make one of our "oldie but a goldie" songs fit the mold.
We have a few songs that we have played consistently over the years, and we are very happy that we will be...
We just received word of what this weeks twist is, and...oh boy. We need to take our "signature song" and cut it to only 2:30 without going over. Amberstein does not simply play 2:30 versions of our songs...so this could be interesting.

In 1984, Rockwell rose to number 2 for 3 weeks in 1984 with "Somebody's Watching Me." The backup singer for the song was Michael Jackson. How did Rockwell get Jackson to help him? Well, Rockwell's real name is Kennedy William Gordy and he...
Have you heard the song "Rumble and Sway" yet on Triple M?
The singer sounds like a raspy blues dude who's definitely been around the block a few times....but surprisingly, Jamie N. Commons is only 23 years old!
He was born in England, but...
Last week, I decided I would try one new, healthy food a week, and asked my facebook friends to make some suggestions.
The first thing I tried was mango. I'm sure I've had other mango flavored things, and mango as part of something else, but...
There's only one thing that might be worse than the Neil Diamond/Barbra Streisand duet "You Don't Bring Me Flowers." And that's Jonathan Suttin doing his best crooning...doing both parts. Most unpleasant.
A lot of people liked this song...
