Over the weekend we went to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D. This was the first feature film I saw in modern 3D and was totally blown away by it. I wanted to go see another 3D film the next day!
When I got to work today, I started talking about it with Zach in our sales department. He was saying how cool it would be if, for example, it was windy on screen and you felt wind in the theater.
This reminded me of William Castle, a 50's film director who did something very similar in theaters showing his film " The Tingler". Here's the director himself to explain:
Then I remembered John Water's 80's film " Polyester" that utilized a scratch 'n sniff card called Odorama! You received this card when you entered the theater and during the movie, a number would flash on screen telling you which scent to sniff. I actually have an old Odorama and it really worked!
