10/04 Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour, Halestorm and HellyeahAlliant Energy Center, 6:30 pm, $45.75, more info
Folk (just kidding, this is pure unadulterated HARD ROCK)
If you're in for a night of frenetic crowd jumping and fist pumping, Monday Night at the Alliant Energy Center is where you will find it. Disturbed released it's newest album Asylum in August and Avenged Sevenfold had their album Nightmare released in July. So this concert will probably feature a lot of new music along with some old favorites.
10/05 King Khan and the Shrines
The Annex, 9:00pm, Ages 18+, $15, More info
Rock 'n Roll/Psychedelic
King Khan and the Shrines were founded in 1999 and are fronted by lead singer King Khan who was born in Canada, but now resides in Berlin, Germany. This band combines a wide variety of instruments with strong experimentation and the speculations of what Khan wears to his concerts are almost Gaga-esque. Regardless of whether you like the music or not, this will be a good show.
10/06 Boo Bradley Alchemy Cafe, 10pm, free, more info
Folk
Join Madison's own Scott Kiker and Brad Selz as they entertain you at the Alchemy Cafe on Atwood Avenue. They are an energetic and fun trio to watch and the show is free. You can't beat that.
10/07 Citizen CopeWisconsin Union Theatre, 8pm, all ages, $22/$25, more info
Hip Hop
Citizen Cope is the pseudonym of Clarence Greenwood and he has been compared to Everlast and similar artists with laid back styles that offer a blend of blues and rap. He self-released The Rainwater LP this year that has garnered some positive reviews.
10/08 Joan BaezWisconsin Union Theatre, 8:30 PM, all ages, $25-$44, more info
Folk
If ever there was a list of people who were emblematic of the culture and zeitgeist of the 1960's, Baez would need to be included. She is mostly known for her extraordinary vocal power and intuitive re-imaginings of other artist's work. And she performed in 1969 at Woodstock. Enough said. Go see her.
10/08 The August Teens and Hum MachineHigh Noon Saloon, 5:30pm, 21+, $5, more info
Pop Rock
The August Teens are a local band that released A Kiss in Wisconsin in March that includes a variety of catchy pop hits that give odes to stalwart pioneers in the business, including mentions of Buddy Holly. But they are ultimately a pop group. Hum Machine has a more alternative rock sound and both of these bands are locals worth checking out.
10/09 Peter Wolf Crier w/Jeremiah Nelson High Noon Saloon, 9:30pm, 18+, $8/$10, more info
Rock & Alternative
Peter Wolf Crier features the duo Peter Pisano and Brian Moen who just released their debut album Inter-Be that features a variety of great songs. They have a rare ability to channel the folky style of Iron & Wine and experiment beyond to a whole new sound.
10/09 Michael Franti & Spearhead Overture Center, 8pm, $32.50, more info
Hip Hop/Funk/Reggae/Folk
Michael Franti has been active for 20+ years and has produced a lot of good music. The Franti/Spearhead experience offers energetic songs with strong social messages, advocating for causes from anti-war to environmentalism. Michael Franti & Spearhead released their newest album Sound of Sunshine in September and it has been given positive reviews. They are great one to check out live.
10/10 Jason Reeves, Joe Brooks, and Cait ShanahanThe Frequency, 8pm, 18+, $10, more info
Indie Rock
L.A. based songwriter Jason Reeves offers a nice mix of folk and smooth melodies that will be sure to engage an audience at The Frequency. Reeves is poised for a breakout and has collaborated with a variety of different artists from Colbie Caillat to Kara DioGuardi.

That's understandable that cash makes people independent. But how to act when someone doesn't have money? The one way only is to receive the personal loans and bank loan.
Have you heard the song "Rumble and Sway" yet on Triple M?
The singer sounds like a raspy blues dude who's definitely been around the block a few times....but surprisingly, Jamie N. Commons is only 23 years old!
He was born in England, but...
Last week, I decided I would try one new, healthy food a week, and asked my facebook friends to make some suggestions.
The first thing I tried was mango. I'm sure I've had other mango flavored things, and mango as part of something else, but...
There's only one thing that might be worse than the Neil Diamond/Barbra Streisand duet "You Don't Bring Me Flowers." And that's Jonathan Suttin doing his best crooning...doing both parts. Most unpleasant.
A lot of people liked this song...
Artist: Alchemilla
Hail From: Boston
Song: 'The Wheel'
Album: Diamonds From The Penny Arcade
Sounds Like: Hole, Pearl Jam
In Their Words: "Alchemilla had been trying to write a ballad for a little while but it wasn't happening. There...
Last weeks challenge we thought went excellent! Of course we are a little biased.
The drinking song couldn't have been any better, or any less fun. We had a blast through out the whole process, and our performance rocked.
This week is an easy...
So the story goes Michael Jackson completed this song while watching cartoons with Paul McCartney. We'll just let that sink in for a moment.
Not sure what cartoons they were watching, but it must have worked because this song made it to number 2...
The Dalai Lama is back in town, sharing his message of peace and kindness with likeminded individuals, and the Wisconsin legislature. He also held a private meeting with Gov. Walker, who said he mostly listened to what His Holiness had to say (wise...
This duet by Ol' Blue Eyes and his daughter went all the way to number 1 back in 1967. It seems a little creepy that Frank and Nancy Sinatra are singing a love song. However, a lot of Triple M listeners were in the mood for it.
