Clyde Stubblefield is the “Funky Drummer” and has been hosting a weekly show in downtown Madison for over 20 years. The Clyde Stubblefield Show features the vocal talents of the lovely Karri Daley (who also represents Madison Media Institute and is a guest blogger for Project M) and the soulful Charlie Brooks, along with Steve Skaggs (keyboards), Dave Goplen (bass), Joe Wickham (guitar) and the three-piece horn section of Bryan Husk, Pete Ross and Chad Whittinghill.

The fused sound of Greta Salpeter (The Hush Sound) and members of This is Me Smiling comes to Madison this week as Gold Motel arrives at the High Noon Saloon. Gold Motel is a collaborative effort between these bands that takes the sound of these separate bands to create a different yet comfortably similar feel. Gold Motel is an alternative/indie rock band with roots in pop. Family of the Year join Gold Motel as they bring their indie/folk sound from Silverlake, California.

Groovy synth filled jams will fill the Project Lodge when Nite Jewel and local Rory Kane take stage on May 13. Nite Jewel is an artist based out of Los Angeles focusing on limited indie-electronic dance grooves with synths and simple drum beats. Rory Kane is a local Madison artist focusing on synth-pop “faux&B." A great show for any fan of up-and-coming artists who lean on the electronic side of indie.

The Knitters blend country, rockabilly, and folk music, and, at the time of their formation, were pioneers of country punk, cowpunk, or folkpunk, the genres which eventually evolved into alternative country. Originally a spinoff of the seminal punk band X, they are influenced by the earthy, honky tonk sound of Bakersfield, CA.

Madison based Baghdad Scuba Review will celebrate the release of their 2nd full length album Friday, May 14th at the High Noon Saloon, 10p. Weighing in at over 60 minutes, Breathe consists of 13 original tracks, many of which the band has been playing live for months or even years. Some are already crowd favorites showing up on live recordings and youtube videos. However, the album versions are crisp, recording studio quality renditions thanks to longtime recording engineer Mark Weber (Pressure Wall, formerly with DNA) who spent over a year working with the 6 piece group to get the live band sound down to digital. The Grasshopper's blend of psychedelic rock, funk, and jam has made them one of the fastest growing names in the area.

Clem Snide is a rock/alternative country band originally from Boston, MA. Earlier this year they released a new album titled The Meat of Life. Joining Clem Snide are the two indie rock bands, Heligoats from Washington and Canasta from Chicago.

Kevin "Tex" Tubb and the Rainy Day Women (featuring Chris Wagoner , Mary Gaines w/ Jim Lottridge and Kenny Koepler) plus Dos Ninos. Kevin Tubb is a Madison institution. Transplanted from Austin, Texas, his musical talents extend far beyond his (uncanny) ability to impersonate Bob Dylan. Join us for the 10th annual Bob Dylan Birthday Tribute, and enjoy tunes that span Dylan's great career, sung by one of Madison's finest.

Reptet is a bass, drums and four horn band based out of Seattle. These six multi-instrumentalists all have an expansive approach to their music, performing original compositions that incorporate jazz, rock, ska, punk, modern classical, avant garde, eastern European folk influences and more.

There's only one thing that might be worse than the Neil Diamond/Barbra Streisand duet "You Don't Bring Me Flowers." And that's Jonathan Suttin doing his best crooning...doing both parts. Most unpleasant.
