Big thanks to Triple M for the Ingrid Michaelson/Keane tickets, Riverside Theater, Milwaukee, 8/10/10. We were able to congregate with Keane for their sound check in the afternoon. Tom Chaplin was a great host, personable, kind, and very welcoming. Tim Rice-Oxley won my heart after the sound check chatting about the tour, enjoying their visit to the States, etc. Rice-Oxley won my heart even more at the show as the most physical keyboard player I have ever seen.
But, honestly, Ingrid Michaelson pretty much stole the show...as the opening act! She and her band truly seemed to love what they were doing. They had great energy and her use of the ukulele was absolutely endearing.
They closed by covering Britney Spears' Toxic and I now cannot get that darn song out of my head!! The band does a charmingly choreographed routine to the song in the end. Here is a version that someone caught at their show in NJ.
Truly a great evening with two great bands connecting with their fans and not taking themselves too seriously!
And, I have to offer a shout-out to Mo's Irish Pub on W. Wisconsin. Magen Snipas is, by far, the best bartender I have come across and I think we convinced her to move to Madison!!
Thanks again Triple M!

fitness riverside
Excellent topics. I really like this. I found this online that, Personal Trainer in city Riverside local Riverside residents into amazing shape with intense personal fitness training workouts. Gets you in shape physically, as well as emotionally and spiritually. It takes eating right and exercising right in order to lose the weight you want to, and even staying in shape takes work as well.
I'm not sure why Pete Yorn decided to name his new music project after a European cave dwelling aquatic salamander, but if he stops by to play us some songs in Studio M, we'll have to ask him.

Today's song was written by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary. It was inspired by the 1957 novel Doctor Zhivago. No one was inspired by the song this morning. It was rejected by almost all the listeners.
Today is World Goth Day, a day to celebrate the post-punk, anti-establishment, dark clothes-wearing subculture.
I'm pretty sure I was a Goth for at least for little while, for two reasons.

This morning it seemed like just about everyone was in the mood for some Funky Cold Medina...except Kitty. This ridiculous song made it all the way to number 3 in 1989. Jonathan says any song that references advertising dogs from the 80's has got...

It's a miracle that both Jonathan and KItty wanted to hear Barry Manilow this morning. They were not alone. Plenty of Fanilow's called in to vote yes. One caller claimed to have seen Manilow in concert 25 times!
