[Recommended] Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Majestic Theatre, Oct. 13th

Grace Potter and the Noctournals Majestic Theatre, Oct. 13th, 8pm, $15/$17, all ages, more info at trueendeavors.com. If you're at all offended by provocative imagery, don't watch this video below.  It's the song "Paris (Ooh La La)" and it's a raw and smothering, take no prisoners song that is real treat to listen to: Grace Potter and the Noctournals will be putting on a wildly fun show at the Majestic Theatre on Wednesday, Oct.13th.  The band was formed in 2002 and have been paying homage to a variety of blues and rock artists ranging from Janis Joplin to James Brown.  This will be a great show to go see.  Potter has the stage presence to make the show good and they have the musical ability to really play some good songs.  They just released their self-titled album in June and it has been reviewed really positively.  It peaked on the U.S. Billboard at #19 and deservedly so.  The album is definitely one to check out and you should see her this Wednesday at the Majestic Theatre at 115 King Street. Similar Artists:
  1. Tom Petty/Neil Young
  2. Bonnie Raitt
  3. Wilco/Black Angels
Why should you go see this show?
  1. The Majestic is a lively venue for a fun band.
  2. Grace Potter and The Noctournals have been around for a while so they know how to put on a good show.
  3. Their music is an awesome mix of rock and blues and have been associated with The Black Crowes, Dave Matthews Band and T-Bone Burnett.

"Thank God I'm a Country Boy" John Denver: World's Worst iPod
There was just about universal love for this foot-stomper from John Denver. John Denver had hit after hit in the mid 1970s, and this was one of them, goign all the way to #1 in 1975. Go ahead, crank it up, sing it loud and proud. And maybe swing...

World's Worst iPod: Jump 'N The Saddle Band "The Curly Shuffle"
A silly novelty tune with a jump swing beat took the country by storm--at least parts of it--in early 1984.  A Chicago band called Jump 'N The Saddle scored a #15 with the Curly Shuffle...and it seems a lot of people have some pretty awesome...

World's Worst iPod:The Human League "(Keep Feeling) Fascination
It was almost a clean-sweep this morning for the synthesizer heavy "(Keep Feeling) Fascination") by the Human League.  Everybody was in the mood for a little 80s fun! It made it up to #8 on the charts in 1983, a couple of years after...

World's Worst iPod:Dr. Hook "When You're in Love With a Beautiful Woman"
Here's a song that inspired high-schoolers to act like 12-year-olds back in the late 1970's. The lyric "when you're in love with a beautiful woman, it's hard," was just so darn hilarious!! Dr. Hook had a lot of hits in the...

World's Worst iPod: Wayne Newton "Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast"
With Father's Day coming up, we thought we'd choose one of the greatest dad songs of all time.  But since that song wasn't on the iPod, we decided to go with "Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast" by Wayne Newton. This song made...

Day 4: The Final Day of Bonnaroo
Today was another busy day at Bonnaroo. We started the day off by seeing Shakey Graves. I missed his show in Madison earlier this year so he was a must see on my list. Loved him! Right as he ended, a press conference with Ed Helms, Abigail...
