If you like Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen, Arcade Fire or Wolf Parade, you will love The National. The deep baritone voice of lead singer Matt Berningner is highly resonate, along with the gifted guitarist brother duo Aaron and Bryce Dessner and other brothers Bryan (who plays drums) and Scott (bass) Devendorf who comprise the band. This group will give you something special.
This band has been around since 1999 and originated in the Midwest (Cincinnati, Ohio) and are well established now in the Brooklyn music scene and just came out with an album High Violet that was released last May that is something everyone should listen to. It is haunting and beautiful and I can't get enough of the deep brooding sound of this band.
