[Recommended] Funky Christmas!, The Majestic Theater, Dec. 17, 8:30pm

Funky Christmas! Featuring the Clyde Stubblefield Band with special guests The Mustache and DJ Jeremy Thomas, The Majestic Theater, Dec. 17, 8:30 pm, $10 The Music If your looking for a great way to get down this Friday look no further than the Majestic's Funky Christmas.  You know with Clyde Stubblefield, you're sure to get the best funk.  Clyde worked with the legendary James Brown and was featured on tracks like "Cold Sweat", "There Was a Time", "I Got The Feelin", "Say it Loud- I'm Black and I'm Proud", "Ain't it Funky Now" and "Mother Popcorn".  Stubblefield has been dubbed "the world's most sampled drummer" and a pair of his drumsticks are in the Cleveland, Ohio Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Here is a small taste of Clyde's amazing skills. Clyde and his band will be headlining the Majestic stage playing some funk and soul classics with, of course, a Christmas twist. Joining the Clyde Stubblefield Band will be funky Madison locals, The Mustache and DJ Jeremy Thomas will be spinning some more soul and hip-hop.  Other Goodies To get everyone in the Holiday spirit even more, there will be an ugly Christmas Sweater contest at midnight.  So dig into grandma's closet and find that light up sweater with puff balls that tells the story of "The Night Before Christmas". What else can you look forward to?  The whole majestic theater will be covered in all kinds of Christmas decorations including a huge Christmas tree!  And if you're 21 or older make sure you ask about the Christmas themed drink specials. Save some money and get into the spirit of giving all at once.  If you bring a donation for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin you can save $2 on your ticket price.  Click this link to see the most needed items. We hope to see you there getting into the Christmas spirit and dancing the night away!

My partner and I really enjoyed reading this blog post, I was just itching to know do you trade featured posts? I am always trying to find someone to make trades with and merely thought I would ask.

Have you heard the song "Rumble and Sway" yet on Triple M? The singer sounds like a raspy blues dude who's definitely been around the block a few times....but surprisingly, Jamie N. Commons is only 23 years old! He was born in England, but...

New food of the week: Kale
Last week, I decided I would try one new, healthy food a week, and asked my facebook friends to make some suggestions. The first thing I tried was mango. I'm sure I've had other mango flavored things, and mango as part of something else, but...

World's Worst iPod: You Don't Bring Me Flowers
There's only one thing that might be worse than the Neil Diamond/Barbra Streisand duet "You Don't Bring Me Flowers." And that's Jonathan Suttin doing his best crooning...doing both parts. Most unpleasant. A lot of people liked this song...

Getting It Tight
Last weeks challenge we thought went excellent! Of course we are a little biased. The drinking song couldn't have been any better, or any less fun. We had a blast through out the whole process, and our performance rocked. This week is an easy...

World's Worst iPod: The Girl is Mine by Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney
So the story goes Michael Jackson completed this song while watching cartoons with Paul McCartney. We'll just let that sink in for a moment. Not sure what cartoons they were watching, but it must have worked because this song made it to number 2...

Who said it? Dolly, or the Dalai Lama?
The Dalai Lama is back in town, sharing his message of peace and kindness with likeminded individuals, and the Wisconsin legislature. He also held a private meeting with Gov. Walker, who said he mostly listened to what His Holiness had to say (wise...

World's Worst iPod: Somethin' Stupid by Frank and Nancy Sinatra
This duet by Ol' Blue Eyes and his daughter went all the way to number 1 back in 1967. It seems a little creepy that Frank and Nancy Sinatra are singing a love song. However, a lot of Triple M listeners were in the mood for it. Here's...
