Based out of: Brooklyn, NY Musical Style: Indie Rock Newest album: They're self-titled album was released in February. So, if you're into the whole indie rock scene, you have to check out Fang Island.  They have a nice fun jam sound and are on the rise in the music scene.  Word on the street (a.k.a. Wikipedia) is that they got their name from an article in The Onion.  Pretty sweet.  Here is an awesome music  video of their song "Life Coach." Fang Island was founded in 2005 by 4 guys who were attending the Rhode Island School of Design.  Later, a couple of other people joined the band and they released their first independent album Day of the Great Leap in 2007 and they released their 2nd EP Sky Gardens in 2008. Musical Influences: Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, Arcade Fire Other reasons to check them out
