Dar Williams is an incredibly talented vocalist who has put out 15 Albums and EPs. She is probably best known on the folk circuit, touring with artists like Mary Chapin Carpenter, Patty Griffin and Joan Baez. Over the years, Williams has built up a solid fan base because of her melodic style and songwriting ability. You can see an example of her song "It's Alright" below:
Also here's a FREE DOWNLOAD of her song "As Cool As I Am." http://wmmm.radiotown.com/AsCoolAsIAm.mp3
Dar Williams has also been a leader in a lot of social causes, even blogging about pedal powdered gyms and talking about Triple M's radio Roots festival here in Madison in 2008. You can check out her writing on Huffington Post here.
Why should you go to see her?
She is incredibly gifted and it will be a fun performance.
The Barrymore Theatre is a cool venue. And Wednesday night is free beer night. (Just kidding)
Williams really is a renaissance woman and is a natural storyteller. She has also written two novels, Amalee in 2004 and Lights, Camera, Amalee in 2008.
And she is a great collaborator with other artists. You can see a picture to the right of her with Jackson Browne.
