[Project M] Live Finale Tomorrow! + Free Downloads!

It all boils down to this...

Project M Finale

7pm, June 17, The Brink Lounge, Free Cover, 21+

RSVP to the Facebook Event

Tomorrow evening is the finale for Project M, the singer-songwriter competition and reality show through Triple M.  The Brink Lounge at 701 East Washington is the place to be tomorrow (Thursday 6/17) at 7pm.  Project M began with 10 contestants and week by week has slowly dwindled down to the final three contestants.  The final three include Keefe Klug, Anna Laube, and Jimmie Linville. All three contestants will perform a thirty minute set with the big announcement to follow.  Crowd response will be a factor in the decision, so make sure to make it to the Brink Lounge and show support for your favorite contestant.  Past and present Project M contestants and judges will be in attendance. The three contestants who remain have all displayed their songwriting skills throughout the competition and these talents will be on showcase tomorrow evening.  If unfamiliar, or familiar and a fan, here is some information and free downloads from the three remaining contestants.
Keefe Klug
Keefe Klug - Two Wrongs (click to download, click the plus sign to stream)
Keefe Klug is from Madison, WI and has been playing guitar since the age on 13.  Keefe has a desire to win this competition because he wants to introduce the Madison area to his style of music while developing a strong relationship within the Madison music community.  For more information on Keefe here is a link to his Project M page.  Below is a free download of his track "Two Wrongs."
Anna Laube
Anna Laube - Hippie Boyfriend (click to download, click plus sign to stream)
Anna Laube is also from Madison, WI and credits here great music upbringing to her parents as they played great music in the house throughout her childhood.  She began playing piano at the age of three and continued to learn a whole arrangement of instruments as time went on.  Anna wants to win because of her love for music and the fact that Triple M is a great radio station and she would love to hear Gabby put her music into regular rotation.  For more information visit Anna's Project M page here and check out her free downloadable track below.
Jimmie Linville
Jimmie Linville - Tracing Circles (Click to download, click plus sign to stream)
Jimmie Linville is from Baraboo, WI and has been playing songs for four years.  Jimmie Linville influences include Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Ray LaMontagne and Sufjan Stevens.  He wants to win Project M because the $500 gift card to Good 'n' Loud sounds perfect for a new PA for his band Daniel and the Lion while meeting and getting to know members within the Madison music scene.  Here is a link to Jimmie's Project M page and below is a free download of his song "Tracing Circles."

Today we traveled back to 1975 for a Rendezvous with The Hudson Brothers. This song didn't make it to high on the charts, but Kitty enjoyed it. Her favorite brother was Brett. She also loved their television show. We've included a skit from...

Free download: Pete Yorn's new project
I'm not sure why Pete Yorn decided to name his new music project after a European cave dwelling aquatic salamander, but if he stops by to play us some songs in Studio M, we'll have to ask him. The Olms is a collaboration between Pete Yorn and...

World's Worst iPod: Torn Between Two Lovers by Mary MacGregor
Today's song was written by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary. It was inspired by the 1957 novel Doctor Zhivago. No one was inspired by the song this morning. It was rejected by almost all the listeners.
Kitty used to be a Goth--almost
Today is World Goth Day, a day to celebrate the post-punk, anti-establishment, dark clothes-wearing subculture. I'm pretty sure I was a Goth for at least for little while, for two reasons. 1) I almost hardly ever wear pastels. 2) I used to...

World's Worst iPod: Funky Cold Medina by Tone Loc
This morning it seemed like just about everyone was in the mood for some Funky Cold Medina...except Kitty. This ridiculous song made it all the way to number 3 in 1989. Jonathan says any song that references advertising dogs from the 80's has got...
