[Music News] Elton John Working With Legends On New Album, Bowie Deluxe Release,

Elton John and Leon Russel Develop a "Union" and Plan a New Album Elton John will be releasing an album titled The Union on October 19 and has been working with legendary singer-songwriter Leon Russel.  John has described the album as "a new chapter" in his recording career and that "I don't have to make pop records anymore."  Not only are Elton and Leon working together, other legends are aiding and working on the album in some degree.  Elton John's longtime songwriting partner Bernie Taupin is helping with the album along with legendary producer T Bone Burnett.  Additionally, guest appearances by Neil Young and Brian Wilson are expected on the highly anticipated album.  Keep your ears and eyes with Triple M as more information or tracks from The Union are released.  more info The Doobie Brothers Are Back!  New Album Planned for September Rock 'n Rollers, the Doobie Brothers, are back to recording music with their longtime producer Ted Templeman.  The Doobie Brothers are planning on releasing a new album, the first in a decade, titled World Gone Crazy on September 28.  Singer-guitarist Tim Johnston stated in an interview that the band has been working on the album off and on for the last 3 years between touring and other arrangements.  Johnston also said that World Gone Crazy is the most "musically diverse" album the band has ever worked on.  It will be interesting to hear what the experienced rockers have created when World Gone Crazy is released in late September. more info The Beatles' Apple Records Remastering and Re-Releasing Catalogue Apple Records, the record label started by the Beatles in 1968, will be reissuing a plethora of albums from Apple's roster of artists.  Albums by James Taylor, Badfinger, Billy Preston, Jackie Lomax, Mary Hopkin and others will all be remastered and released this October.  For a full list of the re-releases and more information regarding Apple's plans, read here. David Bowie To Release "Station to Station" Deluxe Edition David Bowie fans listen up!  Mark your calender for September 20.  David Bowie will be re-releasing his album Station To Station in a deluxe version.  There will be two deluxe versions released, one as a 3-disc set that includes the original album, a sixteen page booklet, postcards, and a never-before released recording from a performance at Nassau Coliseum.  The second deluxe version will be a 5-disc which includes on top of the material in the 3-disc, vinyl copies of all recordings along with a replica press kit and a fan club folder.  For a full track listing and additional information read here. Band of Horses Announce Tour Following the release of their 2010 album Infinite Arms, indie rockers Band of Horses have announced a string of tour dates across the country.  For Triple M fans, Band of Horses have scheduled a stop in Milwaukee on July 16 plus numerous other non-Wisconsin Midwest shows throughout September and October.  For a complete list of dates, read here. The Decemberists Helping Uninsured Musicians Portland folk rockers The Decemberists have done their fair share of good deeds over the years and are continuing today.  The Decemberists are teaming up with The Jeremy Wilson Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting musicians who are uninsured.  The foundation was created by Jeremy Wilson, a former Decemberist bandmate, after he was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition while working as an uninsured musician.  The Decemberists have donated some memorabilia to be sold through the foundation.  more info Smashing Pumpkins Release New Song "Freak" Another song has been released off the ongoing and upcoming Smashing Pumpkins 44-track album titled Teargarden by Kaleidoscope.  The recent release titled "Freak" is the fifth song off the album that has been released to the public.  To listen to the track and also for a free download of the track use the player below.  Let us know what you think of the new Smashing Pumpkins tracks.  more info
