[Bonnaroo] Day Three, Another Great Day

Waking up bright and early in a steamy tent is getting a bit old.  Especially after only a couple hours of sleep. Another amazing day here down on the farm.  Yesterday was a great day with great performances from artists like Stevie Wonder, the Avett Brothers, Mumford and Sons, Jimmy Cliff, and Jay-Z.  My performance picks of yesterday include Mumford and Sons and Jay-Z.  Mumford and Sons put on a great blue grass rock performance and hit on all the tracks from their most recent release "Sigh No More."    For being such a young band Mumford and Sons sounded perfectly together with each other.  The crowd for the Mumford and Sons show was the most diverse crowd yet including people of young and old. On the other end of the spectrum Jay-Z brought the most energy of the festival thus far.  The entire What stage (largest stage) crowd was jamming out with Jay for his entire set and dancing the night away.  Jay-Z was an artist who I always wanted to see live and I am so happy I was finally able to because HOVA was absolutely fantastic.  I will have Jay-Z lines in my head for the next few weeks. Music that I am most anticipating today includes the Dave Matthews Band and Phoenix.  I am not the biggest Dave Matthews fan out there, but I have never had the chance to see Dave live and am looking forward to the bands performance to close down Bonnaroo.  Phoenix released a free live from Sydney download a few months ago and after listening to the release I am anticipating a great show. I have been having a great time here at Bonnaroo and it is crazy to think that the last day is here.  I am looking forward to the music all day today and anticipating the long drive ahead.  Although leaving the farm after a great weekend will be rough, a nice cold shower and sleeping in my own bed are positive reasons getting back to the real world will be nice. Last day of 'roo, here we come. -Sam Ryan

Who else still misses George?  George Harrison was born on today's date in 1943, and was only 58 when he died in 2001. I was interviewed by Channel 3 after he died, and I said it was truly sad for me, because I grew up with the Beatles and...

Grammy flashback: most awkward moment ever?
