Thursday, Day 1
Unfortunate lesson learned today. When traveling to Bonnaroo (even if you have special contest-winning directions and access), it always takes longer than you initially think to get to the fun part of seeing concerts. By the time we finished setting up the tent, it was well after dark and exhaustion had set in. So, I sadly missed Miike Snow as I waited in line for our passes. Very, very :(
But after tonight, I could not be happier that we sacrificed saved gas mileage for a four-wheel drive vehicle. We arrived on the campgrounds after picking up our appropriate wristband to a sloppy, muddy mess. I watched countless vehicles get stuck and then have to be rescued by a tractor as we cruised right through the muck to our outlined campsite. Hopefully it won’t rain again anytime soon, the ground definitely doesn’t need it!
As for Centeroo, it's actually smaller than I imagined. Fewer stages than what I’ve experienced at Summerfest, but tons of space for the big-name acts. The second largest stage, the Which Stage, is massive. We'll have to wait and see how big the biggest stage will be (What Stage) for Kings of Leon. Should be ridiculous based on what I've seen so far!
Time to hit the air mattress :)
